“Legacy of FDR’s WPA and CCC Projects in Sarasota County”

This program examines the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), focusing on the projects that still exist in Sarasota County.

David is currently the curator of the Florida Civilian Conservation Corps Museum at Highland Hammock State Park in Sebring. Before that, he taught for 37 years focusing on United States history, Geography, and special education. His studies include two summers of research at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Library in Hyde Park, New York.

 

 

 

 

This program is sponsored by the Florida Humanities Council with funds from the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture. All events will be at the Sarasota Garden Club, located at 1131 Boulevard of the Arts in Sarasota, and will start at 7:00PM.
