The purpose of the
Friends of the Sarasota County History Center
is to maintain a corp of people acting in the best
interests of the Sarasota County History Center; to promote and
support programs and services that will enhance efforts of the
History Center; to assist in promoting the use and enjoyment of
the facilities and its services; and to actively direct
activities that will develop funding for the facilities.
The Friends are actively recruiting members to participate in
these efforts and to build a volunteer program designed to
provide service to our History Center.

Volunteers are needed in the
following areas:
∙ Archives research and reference assistance
∙ Newspaper scanning and clipping articles of
interest
∙ Film indexing
∙ Data processing obituary information and/or
clerical functions
∙ Docents at exhibits at History Center and
|

A few hours a day or week will provide you with a strong sense of community
with our town of long ago.
You’ll find yourself remembering experiences of “Circus
City” long ago forgotten.
